Question 1

How are dynasty baseball values calculated?

Accepted Answer

Fantasy Foundry uses Monte Carlo simulations across current-year and long-horizon MLB projections combined with league-specific settings like roster slots, scoring categories, and replacement level to produce custom dynasty rankings.

Question 2

Can I customize league settings for my dynasty league?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Dynasty Calculator lets you configure teams, roster slots, scoring categories (5x5 roto or points), innings limits, and more so values match your specific league format.

Question 3

How should I interpret Dynasty Value?

Accepted Answer

Dynasty Value is a relative ranking score, not a dollar amount. Higher values indicate stronger long-term roster impact in your selected format, accounting for projection horizon, positional scarcity, and replacement context.

Question 4

How are two-way players handled?

Accepted Answer

Two-way valuation follows your selected calculator option: sum hitting and pitching value, or keep the higher of the two sides.

Question 5

Why do rankings change when I edit league settings?

Accepted Answer

Value depends on scarcity and scoring context. Changing format, roster depth, or categories changes replacement level and category impact.

Question 6

Why might a player with strong stats rank lower than expected?

Accepted Answer

Multi-year value accounts for projection horizon, discounting, replacement context, and slot constraints, not just one-season counting stats.

Question 7

How often are projections updated?

Accepted Answer

Projections are updated periodically throughout the offseason and into the regular season as new data becomes available. The app shows a data version indicator so you can confirm you're viewing the latest projections.

Question 8

What scoring formats does Fantasy Foundry support?

Accepted Answer

Fantasy Foundry supports both rotisserie (5x5 and custom category counts) and points-based scoring. You can configure exact categories, point values, roster slots, and league size to match your specific league format.

Question 9

How does the Monte Carlo simulation work?

Accepted Answer

The calculator uses simulated league standings to calibrate SGP denominators for your league settings, then applies a deterministic dynasty pipeline with MCTS carryover self-play, modeled reserve depth, replacement level, and multi-year discounting to produce customized rankings.
